Bios
President – Les Martzall
Les Martzall has been a member of the ECAA since January 1978. Les is an EMT-B and is also certified in CPR, EVOC and as a Vehicle Rescue Technician. He is an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR-AED Instructor, and a Health & Safety Institute (HSI) CPR-AED and First Aid instructor and training center manager. He is the primary CPR instructor for the Berks County Intermediate Unit and is PQAS certified. He is also a Stop the Bleed instructor. Les has previous volunteer experience in firefighting, vehicle rescue and water rescue. Les was the President of the ECAA from 1981 – 1997 and 2004 – 2012. He was the Treasurer of the ECAA from 2002 – 2003 and 2014 – 2017. He returned to the position of President in 2018.
1st VP – Michael Lyons
Mike Lyons has been a member of the ECAA since November 2003. Mike is an EMT-B and is also certified in CPR and EVOC. He is an American Red Cross and National Safety Council certified instructor in CPR-AED and First Aid. He is an Assistant Chief of the Lancaster County HazMat team. He has previous experience as a police officer, a volunteer firefighter and is currently the Regional Safety Director of a local business. He has been serving as First Vice-President since 2018.
2nd VP – James Gehman
James Gehman has been a member of the ECAA since January 2023. James is an EMT-A and is also certified in CPR. He is also a volunteer EMT-A at Reamstown Ambulance. He serves the community as a volunteer firefighter and Deputy Chief at the Lincoln Fire Company. He served the beginning of a two-year term as Trustee through from 2024 – 2025. He is now serving as the Second Vice-President in 2025.
Secretary – Laura Martin
Laura Martin has been a member of the ECAA since July 2004. Laura is an EMT-P and is also certified in CPR and EVOC. She is certified as an American Heart Association CPR-AED instructor. She is also a Stop the Bleed instructor. Laura is certified as a Paramedic. She serves the community as a volunteer firefighter at the Lincoln Fire Company. Laura served as the Secretary of the ECAA from 2010-2012, the First Vice-President in 2013 and a Trustee in 2014, and as the Second Vice-President from 2015 – 2024. She is currently serving as the Secretary of the ECAA again in 2025.
Treasurer – Chris Frye
Chris Frye has been a member of the ECAA administration since October 2020. Chris is a Staff Accountant at Covenant CPA who is willing to help us manage the financial planning, signing of checks, analyzing data, investing for the future, etc. He is very experienced in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks, where he has helped us improve our usage of these applications.
Trustee – Rhonda Moyer
Rhonda Moyer has been a member of the ECAA since March 2005. Rhonda is an EMT-B and is also certified in CPR. Rhonda served two-year terms as a Trustee of the ECAA from 2013 – 2024. She is currently serving another two-year term as Trustee through 2026.

EMS Manager – Kevin Wolf
Kevin Wolf has been the EMS manager of the ECAA since August 1992. Kevin is an EMT-B and is also certified in CPR, EVOC and as an American Heart Association CPR-AED instructor. Kevin previously volunteered with the ECAA from 1982 through 1983 and 1985 through 1992. He also served as a paid EMT-B with the ECAA from 1983 to 1984. Kevin previously served the community as a firefighter and in vehicle and water rescue services.
